Are your church's social media accounts not getting much engagement? Do you want to learn how to transform them into vibrant channels to communicate with your congregation and community? Then you're in the right place. In this facilitated course from United Methodist Communications, you'll reconsider social media through a strategic lens, build a social media plan, and discover fresh new ways to engage your audiences, all while balancing legal and ethical concerns. This session will run from July 31st - August 25th, 2023. Content will be delivered through an online self-paced format (i.e. learn on your schedule) format throughout the course duration. Participants of this course will be invited (i.e. not mandatory) to gather virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1pm Central Time- for Q&A and facilitation on a variety of social media topics. The four week learning pathway includes, but is not limited to:

Week 1: The Big Picture

- See how social media and metrics fit into your church's communications.

Week 2: The Plan

- Develop a social media calendar to help keep your branding and communications consistent.

Week 3: The Practice

- Create engaging content that captures the audience's attention.

Week 4: The Practicalities

- Review or develop your church's social media policy, including legal and ethical compliance.

Important: Live attendance in the Tues. and Thurs. sessions are not required. All weekly sessions will be recorded and available to you in the learning portal within a day after the session.

The full content of the course will remain available to registered users of the respective session for a span of 3 months from the course start date. At the conclusion of the course, you will have the opportunity to earn 2.0 CEUs awarded by the United Methodist Communications Training Center.
